The Lazzara LSX67 Sport has just won the Yacht and Aviation Award 2023 in the USA, giving us the chance to find out more about this astonishing boat, which enters the Bluegame category - that of day or coastal motoryachts - with some serious arguments.
At 20 metres in length, the Lazzara LSX67 is neither quite a small pleasure craft nor quite a large yacht.
But its aft cockpit incorporates a rather interesting feature borrowed from the world of centre consoles and also from that of large yachts: the large aft beach club.
With an upper deck now commonplace, which often houses the dining area, the use of the aft cockpit can change.
This is what Lazzara has done on its LSX67, where the bulwarks and stern are lowered to form a very large relaxation and bathing area.
Two staircases lead to the upper deck, where the dining room and helm station are located, while the cabins are on the same level as the beach club.
The bulwarks, which are quite high when closed, are cleverly fitted with windows that allow you to see the sea while being protected from the wind when they are in a vertical position.
The space at the stern is almost 50 m2, which is quite unusual for a boat of this size.
The rest is fairly conventional, with Volvo IPS 1200 or 1350 engines, a hybrid version of which has recently been in the news.
The Lazzara shipyard was first known for its sailboats, the Colombia. After the sale of the brand in 1960, Vince Lazzara set up the current shipyard, Lazzara Yachts, a motorboat shipyard specialising in large motor yachts.
