July 2 2024
There are some press releases that never cease to surprise, like the one issued by Joker Boats, the Italian manufacturer of luxury RIB boats, announcing the departure of its boss, Andrea Aiello.
There are some messages where substance is as important as form. Particularly messages about the departure - voluntary or otherwise - of company managers.
At Joker Boats, a family business if ever there was one, there are no such subtleties, just emotion, as expressed by its CEO, the second generation of the family, who, in a surprising statement, shares a great deal of emotion.
Yachting Art has translated it for you below:
Andrea Aiello leaves Joker Boat on the 1st of July.
Andrea Aiello, the sole director and what appeared to be the future of Joker Boat, has decided to resign as director and leave the company with effect from 1st of July 2024, in view of the differences that have arisen in the management of the company with the owner (his father, editor's note).
Andrea Aiello has accepted the owner's decision with great bitterness, wishing Joker Boat and its staff all the best for the future.
Andrea Aiello would like to thank the dealers, customers, suppliers and above all the employees who have enabled the family business to make great strides forward in recent years, in terms of image, technological innovation, work organisation and product.
Andrea Aiello commented: "The love and respect shown to me by suppliers, dealers, customers and above all employees is something unique. It's heartbreaking to leave a brand for which I could one day see myself becoming a major shareholder, but what saddens me most is to leave all the people who have supported me, and perhaps stood by me, over these ten years. I have loved many of them and I will continue to love them, and I am sure that my story will not end here, but that there will be a sequel.
I wish the new director the best of luck and hope that he will be able to continue the work done so far with dignity and reason."
Decrypting - this departure symbolises at best a family business handover that is going badly. It's a shame for a fine brand of RIBs whose products stand out for their excellent build quality. Beautiful RIBs.
