Engines intended for recreational use benefit from a three-year manufacturer's warranty, plus a two-year commercial warranty for engines purchased from 2025 onwards. This extension brings the total warranty period to five years.
This cover applies only to models officially imported into Europe, sold by an authorised Yamaha dealer and registered under the Yamaha warranty system. Engines produced before 2008 are not eligible. For professional use, the warranty is limited to one year.
The warranty covers a wide range of models, from F2.5 to XTO, and includes parts and labour. For the warranty to remain valid, owners must comply with the maintenance schedules set out in the owner's manual. This maintenance must be carried out by an authorised Yamaha Motor Outboard dealer, using only genuine Yamaha parts and Yamalube oil.
If servicing has not been carried out as recommended, an engine inspection will be required at the start of the extended warranty period. This check, carried out at the owner's expense, will ensure that the maintenance requirements have been met. The information should be recorded in the Yamaha Digital Service Record via YMPULSE.
With this extended warranty, Yamaha is seeking to strengthen its offering by providing cover that meets the needs of users, while encouraging rigorous and compliant engine maintenance.
