SailGP is an international high-speed sailing competition in which national teams compete on identical F50 catamarans capable of reaching 100 km/h. This 13-Grand Prix championship will pass through the world's most iconic locations, starting in Dubai in November 2024 and concluding in Abu Dhabi in November 2025. The races, which take place in close proximity to spectators, showcase technology, innovation and a commitment to sustainable development.

A strategic partnership between L'Oréal and K-Challenge

On 15 March 2025, the L'Oréal Group announced an official partnership with K-Challenge, a company specialising in sport and technology, to support the French team competing in SailGP. This three-year partnership reinforces L'Oréal's commitment to high-level sport and supports the ambitions of the French team in its quest for international excellence.

This support is a continuation of L'Oréal's involvement with the French Challenger crew in the 37th America's Cup, where the team competed in the first Women's America's Cup. Thanks to SailGP, L'Oréal continues to promote inclusion by supporting a mixed crew of women, men, young sailors and engineers. The aim is to help them reach the 2025 Grand Final and win the $2 million prize.

A commitment to excellence and innovation

Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L'Oréal Group, emphasises the importance of this collaboration on Actunautique Yachting Art: ‘We are very pleased to develop this partnership with K-Challenge and to continue our enthusiastic support for the French sailing team in its quest for international sporting excellence. L'Oréal has always supported the ambitions of women and young people around the world. With the America's Cup 2024 and now with SailGP, we are accompanying them in the demanding world of top-level sport, while promoting our shared values of innovation and sustainable development.’

Christophe Babule, L'Oréal Group's Executive Vice-President for Administration and Finance, adds: ‘This level of sailing competition represents a real challenge, as it requires intensive training, flawless team coordination, cutting-edge innovation and a strong commitment to sustainable development. We are delighted to support the French team in this exciting adventure.’

Strengthening resources for the future

Stephan Kandler, co-CEO of K-Challenge, expresses his satisfaction: ‘The continued and renewed support of L'Oréal Groupe is a source of great pride for K-Challenge. It allows us to strengthen our team on the SailGP circuit and to dedicate resources to training and excellence for young people and women in our sport. Our ambition is to bring together the biggest brands and personalities, symbols of French excellence, to win the biggest sailing trophies.’

This partnership opens up new prospects for the French SailGP team, which aims to become one of the best teams in the world while promoting diversity, training and innovation.
