The fleet of 30 boats will head for Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, before beginning the Atlantic crossing to Marie-Galante, in Guadeloupe. The official start will be on 31 October 2025, with the crews due to gather on 24 October for technical checks, medical checks, safety briefings and refuelling.
With its endless beaches, turquoise waters, spectacular dunes and traditional villages, Fuerteventura is an ideal destination for the start of this transatlantic adventure. The southern tip of the island, where Marina Jandia is located, allows the fleet to sail directly to Cape Verde in the best weather conditions. This unique island in the Canary archipelago offers an ideal setting for the sailors before their long crossing.
This change of departure port is part of a long-standing partnership with Calero Marinas, manager of several marinas in the Canaries. Since 2017, this collaboration has enabled the Rallye des Îles du Soleil to benefit from quality infrastructures at each departure. Calero Marinas already owns Puerto Calero and Marina Lanzarote in Lanzarote as well as Marina La Palma on the island of the same name. The new Marina Jandia, recently inaugurated, completes this offer with modern facilities adapted to the needs of transatlantic crews.
Located in the town of Morro Jable, Marina Jandia was designed by the architect Nestor Perez Batista and is inspired by traditional Canarian architecture. It offers 310 berths for boats ranging in size from 6 to 50 metres, as well as a range of nautical services, shops and leisure areas, guaranteeing the best possible welcome for rally participants.
This not-to-be-missed annual event, with its emphasis on safety and conviviality, continues to attract sailing enthusiasts keen to cross the Atlantic in a flotilla while benefiting from a structured framework and personalised support.
