Spinlock’s success warrants new larger Cowes head office

Leading marine design and manufacturing company, Spinlock has purchased Cowes police station, almost doubling the size of the award-winning company’s base on the Isle of Wight.

Spinlock’s success warrants new larger Cowes head office

The police station, which has lain empty for the past three years since being put up for sale, is situated opposite Spinlock’s current head office in Birmingham Road, which has been home to Spinlock for more than 50 years.

The new office will provide around 5500 sq ft of space and will be used to house Spinlock’s design team, R&D Test Lab and sales & marketing division, as well as provide more space for training and hosting customers.

Chris Hill, Spinlock CEO said, “Developing the police station allows us to secure the space we require for continued growth in new and existing markets, while maintaining our prime and iconic location in Cowes."

As well as expanding our sales & marketing team to support Spinlock’s export markets and new sectors such as commercial marine, the new space will provide enhanced new R&D test facilities for faster development of new products. We also host many regular international customers who visit Cowes and Spinlock to support development of their business with us, and this superb new location, sympathetically renovated but to modern standards will allow us to greatly extend the experience we offer.”

Spinlock, which also operates a production facility on the island, currently employs 50 staff. All of its products are designed and manufactured in Cowes, before being shipped to more than 63 countries globally.
