One day to go before opening of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019

Only 1 day left to complete the transformation of the Vieux Port and Port Canto in Cannes which will accommodate almost 650 boats recently released from the most prestigious French and international shipyards. The show will open for its 42nd edition on Tuesday 10 September for 6 days.

From one end to the other of the famous Croisette, the very best international offering of monohull or multihull motorboats and sailing boats will be present and the spotlight will be on Cannes, which, for a week, will become the capital of the luxury yachting industry.

While maintaining its identity and positioning, the year 2019 marks an evolution for the Yachting Festival, which will now revolve around Cannes’ two ports: the Vieux Port will continue to welcome the ultimate in motor boats while Port Canto will become the new showcase for sailing boats, all the while preserving its section dedicated to the event.

Divers, technicians, builders, installers of tents and pontoons, decorators and all the other trades involved in the installation of the show on land and in-water will now step up the pace to turn this idyllic setting into the biggest in-water boating show in Europe.

“A race against time has begun. Several hundred people will be busy during the last week of setting up the show so that everything is ready on Tuesday 10 September at 10 am,” explains Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival. “We can’t wait to open our doors so that our visitors have the best experience while discovering the must-have international offering in motorboats and sailing boats. The reorganised Vieux Port will let them “navigate” more easily between the different boat categories as the Cannes Yachting Festival showcases motorboats from 10m to 50m... The “Sailing Area” at Port Canto will be a major first and we can’t wait to unveil it to our visitors who will no doubt be impressed by the unique content of this showcase,” continues Sylvie Ernoult “We have also put together several events to recognise sailing in all its richness and diversity: Isabelle Autissier will be there as our Guest of Honour and Armel Le Cleac’h as Ambassador, the 1st edition of The Regatta, the Energy Observer exhibition... So many unprecedented events for the Cannes Yachting Festival.”

A must-see event for luxury yachting for more than 40 years, the Cannes Yachting Festival brings together more than 50,000 visitors from around the world and more than 600 exhibitors every year. All of the major players in the luxury yachting industry will be there to open the season and present more than 210 new releases including 127 worldwide previews.
