The all-new Princess Yachts Y85 flagship flybridge motor yacht

Following the recent announcement of Princess Yacht's most technologically advanced and fastest-ever yacht, the revolutionary R35 performance sports yacht, record-breaking financial results and the most aggressive product launch plan in the 53-year history of the company, Princess now reveals the pinnacle of the Motor Yacht class, the all-new Y85.

Princess Y Class Motor Yachts deliver a new level of luxury, interior ambience and space.   The all-new Y85 joins the award winning Y75 as well as the hugely successful Y88 yacht in the Y Class range, delivering stunning  performance, technology and quality time at sea.

Design

Hand-built in Plymouth, England, the Y85 offers a unique experience, created for  the owner who wants to travel fast, in style and luxury.  The Princess Design Studio and Olesinski worked closely with Pininfarina to combine a unique sculptural elegance and simplicity of form that gives the Y85 breathtaking new looks while remaining unmistakably Princess.

The Y85 design team focused as much on interior layout and use as on exterior elegance and detail.  Light, space and guest comfort define the on-board Y85 experience.

The flybridge unashamedly focuses on al-fresco living and relaxing with a large dining area opposite a fully-equipped wet bar, barbecue and fridge, further complemented by a large aft sunpad and forward facing seating  either side of the helm position,  where guests can take shade underneath a piece of floating architecture - the practical louvred hardtop (optional).

Up front, the bow area offers a U-shaped seating  area – a unique and memorable place to enjoy sundowners .  The sunbeds feature adjustable teak headrests, converting into aft-facing sofas around an optional coffee table.  An aft-mounted, hydraulic swim platform allows guests to cool off and enjoy watersports.

The single level main deck meanwhile offers expansive entertaining arrangements from a large aft cockpit dining area featuring a hand-crafted teak table, moving inside to sociable U-shaped aft seating, and forward to a circular dining area adjacent to the well-equipped galley. This journey through the main deck can be formalised to the owner's wishes  thanks to a sliding door to the galley and an elegant electronic divider over the bar that transforms the galley from open and sociable to fully enclosed.

Privacy is also maximised by a separate wheelhouse and the ability for the crew to move discretely around the yacht by utilising side deck doors from the helm and galley areas.

Below deck, four ensuite cabins can sleep eight supported by class-leading crew quarters with two further cabins and a crew mess.  The elegant master cabin makes full use of the Princess Y85's exceptional width amidships, with natural light flooding in from two large windows.  A large ensuite bathroom and dressing room equipped with wardrobes and drawers further accentuate the feeling of infinite storage space.  The luxurious specification also includes the latest UHD LED television, whilst a celebrated partnership with Naim produces the most highly developed audio system to ever feature as standard on a luxury motor yacht.

Performance

The all-new Princess Y85 boasts outstanding performance with powerful twin MAN V12 engines – either 1800mhp or 1900mhp variants - the latter powering the Y85 up to 33 knots†.  Princess's pioneering deep-V hull design developed with world-renowned naval architects Olesinksi, is the foundation to this unique performance.  On the Y85, Princess and Olesinski further refined this concept to deliver 13% greater efficiency than the design it replaces. And, as expected from a Princess, comfortable, quiet cruising is achieved with a fully sound-proofed engine room and engine mounts that reduce vibration.

Craftsmanship

The Y85 heralds a new vision for the design detail and use of craftsmanship that will become a hallmark for Y Class Motor Yachts. On the Y85, particular attention has gone into creating a sumptuously detailed and crafted cockpit area with organic, flowing teak forms that flow over and around the transom, fully capped teak staircases, teak railings, advanced lighting and elegant furniture which showcase the unique capabilities of Princess's craftsmen and craftswomen.
