July 1 2024
On Wednesday June 26, 2024, the new poster and website for the Mercury Fishing Cup II were launched on social networks, along with all the 2024 partners.
The Mercury Fishing Cup is the new format of the French championship of lure fishing for carnivorous fish in boats, organized by the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives (FFPS) with Mercury Marine.
After Poses sur la Seine, Eure (27) in 2023, it's the turn of Lac de Vassivière, straddling Haute-Vienne (87) and Creuse (23), to host this year's Mercury Fishing Cup (MFC).
The winning duo will take home the title of Champion de France des pêches des carnassiers en bateau 2024, the MFC trophy and a cheque for 10,000 euros.
Yann Diquerreau, Marketing Manager at Mercury Marine France and co-organizer of the MFC, explains: "Since last year, this event has been considered the flagship of freshwater fishing. It was with this in mind that we came up with the 2024 poster concept. The MFC shines the spotlight on competitors and the many partners who have joined us for this second edition."
At the same time, the MFC organizers took the opportunity to launch the brand-new Mercury Fishing Cup website: mercuryfishingcup.com.
This website aims to focus exclusively on the MFC, presenting all the practical information, such as the sporting rules, the registration procedure, as well as the operation of the application used to register for the MFC and measure fish during the competition (pike, zander and perch).
Michel Polydor, President of the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives (FFPS)/Carnassier, stresses the importance of the website in promoting the competition. "The site contains all the information on the teams taking part this year, as well as those who took part in last year's event. A dedicated page features articles, photos and videos from the first edition of the MFC."
Alexandre Portheault, FFPS/Carnassier vice-president, explains the ergonomic work carried out on the site: "We've designed a simple, clear site that highlights this prestigious competition as well as all MFC partners, classified by partnership level."
The presentations of the website and the official poster provided an excellent opportunity to list all the MFC II partners. Here they are, by type:
Yann Diquerreau explains the approach to highlighting partners: "Over the past two months, we've published several teasers on social networks to introduce the various MFC partners. Now that all the partners have been introduced, in line with our latest press release, we're delighted to be able to present the official poster and website bringing all our partners together."
The MFC website will be gradually completed, particularly from July 9, when registration opens. Each registered team will be presented with photos, team members' names, place of origin, sponsors and track record. Each team member will then be able to share their team's presentation page on their social networks.
Enthusiasm for the competition continues to grow, with numerous requests to reserve places. However, it's important to remember that registration for the MFC will open on July 9, 2024 at 5:00 pm, 100 days before the event, via the My FFPS app, available on Apple Store and Google Play. No reservations can be made before this date.
Michel Polydor affirms that the number of boats will be limited, but that the organization will accept more boats than last year, when there were 55. He encourages everyone to register quickly from the evening of July 9 and within 24/48 hours maximum to avoid unpleasant surprises. The number of places will be confirmed on social networks in a forthcoming communication.
