Sad news for the French boating industry: the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN) has just announced the abandonment of the Nautic en Seine 2025 boat show project.

Breaking news - Parisian Nautic en Seine 2025 boatshow finally abandoned

Expected to take place on April 1, the new event on the banks of the Seine will not take place: the members of the Fédération des Industries Nautiques have decided that the current market context no longer allows the French industry to guarantee the full success of a first edition.

The Nautic en Seine boat show project in the Paris region was the fruit of intense consultation during the first half of 2023.

Fabrice Lacoume, President of the FIN Boat Show Commission, tells ActuNautique Yachting Art: "Everyone praised the quality of the project prepared by the federation's operational teams. This ambitious project meets the demands expressed 18 months ago. It is currently the subject of intensive discussions both with the French government regarding administrative authorizations, and with our local partners to achieve the best possible economic balance. Despite all this work, we have to admit that the situation has changed in the space of a year, with the instability of the market due to external economic factors impacting our prospects and weakening the project. The pre-marketing phase launched over the past few months means that we are unable to continue the development of this new show with any peace of mind”.

Jean-Paul Chapeleau, President of FIN, continues: “FIN's primary vocation is to strengthen the French boating industry. That's why we collectively considered it important to maintain a show in the Paris region. But our responsibility is also to guarantee that a certain level of risk will not be crossed, including for the trade federation, and to take into account a range of contingencies. Our Board's discussions have shown that the context is no longer favorable. It's a decision we certainly regret, but one we fully accept. This will not prevent us from continuing to consider other solutions”.

On the occasion of this unfortunate cancellation, FIN would like to thank the partners involved in this project, in particular the Hauts de Seine departmental council, the town of Boulogne, Haropa Port, Voies Navigables de France, as well as the French government departments and all the industry professionals who lent their support.

Nautic En Seine should have taken place next to The Seine Musicale, on the Seine river
