SLAM, an Italian nautical clothing house founded in Genoa in 1979, has from the outset embodied excellence in technical sailing equipment. Combining ingenuity and refinement, the brand strives to design pieces that combine performance and elegance, designed to accompany sailors in the most demanding conditions.
In 2021, a decisive turning point came with the acquisition of SLAM by the Italian holding company VAM Investments, headed by Francesco Trapani and Marco Piana. This transition marked the start of a strategic renaissance, unveiled at the "Slam is back ’ event in May 2022.
To mark the occasion, Enrico Chieffi, former world champion in the 470 and Star classes, was appointed president, bringing his expertise and passion for top-level sailing to the brand.
SLAM stands out for its collaborative approach with top athletes and crews, subjecting each design to the test of the elements to perfect its technicality. SLAM's commitment to sustainable development is reflected in the fact that some of its production has been transferred back to Europe and Italy, as well as in its rigorous selection of environmentally-friendly materials, with a complete range offering attractive value for money in a market where prices have tended to soar in recent years.
True to its Genoese heritage, SLAM has revisited its visual identity, giving it a contemporary aesthetic without denying its origins. It is also continuing to support young sailing talent, affirming its role as acommitted player in the evolution of sailing and its unwavering commitment to the maritime community.
SLAM clothing is available in France in specialist shops, as well as in a number of chandleries and sailmakers, including Delta Voiles Hyères, Uship Lorient,Accastillage Diffusion Port Olona, Accastillage Diffusion Port Pin Rolland...
