Garmin, a specialist in marine electronics, has just announced the launch of its flagship model: the Fusion Apollo RA800 stereo system. This new equipment, specifically designed for recreational boating, aims to redefine the standards of onboard audio with advanced features and enhanced power.
The Apollo RA800 features a completely redesigned internal amplifier. According to Garmin, this new amplifier offers 50% more power than previous generations, allowing it to power up to four speakers on board.
This increase in power is designed to meet boaters' expectations in terms of performance and sound intensity, while ensuring prolonged listening comfort.
Audio quality remains a top priority for this model. The device offers high-resolution, lossless sound coupled with optimised Wi-Fi connectivity. This combination aims to ensure smooth and faithful content delivery, particularly via Apple AirPlay®. In addition, there is a built-in DAB/DAB+ tuner for digital radio reception when the signal is available.
The ergonomics of the Apollo RA800 have also been carefully designed. The device is equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen that stands out for its readability in direct sunlight, vibrant colours and wide viewing angles.
Particular attention has been paid to the responsiveness of the interface: the integrated processor is eight times faster than previous models from the brand.
In terms of on-board sound management, the Apollo RA800 allows you to connect several stereo systems from the range to create separate listening areas on the same boat. This feature is designed for users who want to adjust the sound environment according to the space and how it is being used.
The Apollo RA800 stereo system is already available at a recommended retail price of £899.99, with the same mounting features as previous models to make replacement or upgrades easy.
Garmin emphasises that this launch is part of its commitment to supporting boating enthusiasts by providing them with robust audio solutions tailored to the specific constraints of marine environments. Through its Fusion and JL Audio brands, the group continues to develop systems dedicated to the marine sector, as well as the automotive, recreational vehicle and home markets.
