Video - A bulk carrier breaks in two in the middle of a storm

There are sometimes icy moments that are captured by chance, on video, and that give you a chill.

Like the images broadcast by the Turkish maritime authorities, relating to the sinking of a cargo ship, which broke in two, in the middle of a storm, on January 17!

The Arvin, a small bulk carrier flying the flag of Palau, built in 1975, 114 meters long and 14 meters wide, with a gross tonnage of 2,500 tons, carries 2,900 tons of urea and is sailing in the middle of a storm off the Turkish coast, when one of its crew members decides to use his spartphone to film the navigation from the bridge.

Suddenly, the structure of the merchant ship shows signs of fatigue as the cargo ship begins to bend in half in the middle!

The video shows the Mayday message launched by the crew, anticipating a tragic outcome.

The shipwreck resulting from these images leaves a terrible toll: 6 missing out of the 12 crew members ...
