Marsaudon Composites' ORC Catamarans taken over by Grand Large Yachting

At the opening of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, it was announced by the Lorient Commercial Court that the Marsaudon Composites shipyard, builder of sports catamarans and its ORC brand, had been taken over by Grand Large Yachting.

Marsaudon Composites, which was founded in 1999 focusing initially on the manufacture of models and moulds, had evolved towards the manufacture of composite parts, thanks in particular to the development of its expertise in the infusion process for large parts. In 2014, the company took a strategic turn, developing its own line of sailing catamarans, Ocean Rider Catamarans.

All the company's assets, the yard's teams and the ORC brand recently joined Grand Large Yachting, the leader in Grande Croisière, and the group's five sailing yacht brands. Grand Large Yachting is also 'delighted' to be adding the ORC range to its range of Grande Croisière boats, which are renowned for their performance and build quality.

Xavier Desmarest, Managing Director of GLY explains:

"We are delighted to welcome current and future ORC owners to our sailing community. Welcome to them! We are going to start work today with all the teams to relaunch the brand and write a new page together!"

This announcement, which was made at the opening of the Cannes Yachting Festival, also confirmed the presence of the ORC 57, which can be visited during the show, as it is exhibited alongside other boats from the Grand Large Yachting group, such as the Garcia Exploration 60 and the Gunboat 72, both of which are present at the show for a world premiere.
