Yachting - The Catana Group is accelerating its move upmarket with two new strategic yachts

In a global yachting market characterised by more volatile demand cycles and a growing divide between entry-level and premium vessels, the CATANA Group is continuing to pursue its methodical expansion strategy. The French builder has just announced the imminent launch of two major new models: the YOT 53 and the BALI 7.0. These two launches reflect a major industrial and commercial shift for the group, which is now firmly committed to the high-end yachting segments.

This initiative forms part of the company’s 2030 strategic plan, which aims to strengthen its presence in high-value-added markets that are less dependent on cyclical fluctuations in the traditional boating sector. Through these new models, the group also intends to demonstrate its ability to scale up in terms of size, sophistication and perceived value, whilst capitalising on the strong identities of its historic brands, CATANA and BALI.

The first milestone in this expansion is the launch of the YOT 53, expected in the autumn. With this model, the YOT brand is taking a significant step forward by offering its first live-aboard yacht fitted with an inboard engine. More than just a technical advancement, this marks a repositioning towards a clientele of discerning owners seeking more exclusive vessels suited to extended use.

The YOT 53 stands out in particular for its design, which focuses on on-board comfort and the sailing experience. Featuring an owner’s suite with a private terrace, a cockpit that opens wide thanks to a tilt-and-turn door, and a spacious rooftop, the yacht embraces the contemporary style of a residential yacht whilst retaining capabilities suited to both inshore sailing and offshore crossings.

In the sailing segment, the CATANA Group is also preparing a significant development with the launch of the BALI 7.0, a catamaran measuring over 22 metres which will enable the brand to enter the market for large vessels. This segment, which is particularly dynamic on the international stage, attracts a clientele with high purchasing power who value space, autonomy and personalisation.

With this new model, the group aims to combine two complementary identities: on the one hand, the functional and user-friendly approach that has made BALI a commercial success; on the other, CATANA’s long-standing expertise in offshore sailing and performance at sea.

Beyond the products themselves, these launches reflect a more profound transformation within the French group. By expanding its portfolio to include very large vessels, CATANA is confirming its ambition to become a global player in premium yachting, capable of serving fast-growing international markets whilst consolidating its move upmarket in terms of manufacturing and technology.
