Shtandart frigate forced to fight in order to keep her humanist mission

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the frigate "Shtandart", a replica of a historic ship under the Russian flag, let by a private russian association, has sailed in Europe, from port to port, sometimes accepted, sometimes refused.

The French authorities are now asking her to change flag if she is to continue docking in French ports. An exception has been made from April 28 to May 2 in La Rochelle.

Will the "Shtandart" be at the Fecamps Grand'Escale 2024 ?

Never before has the question of her arrival been so uncertain. The reason? A decision by the Fench General Secretariat for the Sea on April 12 to ban Russian-flagged vessels from French ports, unless they change their country of registration.

Eco Yachting, Yachting & Boating's Report from ActuNautique Yachting Art Magazine, has met her captain, Vladimir Martus, in La Rochelle,  where the Shtandart made a stopover this week....
