Sailing and offshore racing - After a successful start in Saint-Malo, the Koesio crew continued their winning streak by winning the second act of the Ocean Fifty Series in Concarneau. A collective performance marked by consistency, team spirit, and tactical mastery in complex conditions.
The second round of the Ocean Fifty Series, held in Concarneau, saw the multihull Koesio win again, just two weeks after its success in Saint-Malo. This latest victory means that the team led by Erwan Le Roux has had a perfect start to the season, demonstrating remarkable consistency throughout the races.
The decisive race was the high-coefficient coastal race, which the crew won with flying colors. This success was built on perfect management of tactical options in the Bay of Concarneau, which was subject to changing and uncertain winds. The strategic choices made from the start allowed the boat to quickly take the lead and maintain its advantage, despite pressure from opponents who were sometimes faster in certain conditions.
Composed of Devan Le Bihan, Audrey Ogereau, Hélène Noesmoen, and Maxime Guyon, the Koesio team demonstrated great consistency. All contributed to the performance with their precision in maneuvering, their composure, and their ability to exploit the rare opportunities offered by the weather conditions. The good spirit on board and the smooth distribution of roles reinforced their efficiency on the water.
The program planned for the last day could not be completed: due to insufficient wind, Sunday's regatta was canceled after more than an hour of sailing. The overall ranking was therefore frozen, confirming Koesio's first place. This result does not detract from the strength of their performance, already recognized by their two previous successes.
Beyond pure performance, the team emphasizes the importance of cohesion and preparatory work. Joint training sessions with other teams, notably Orlabay, have helped optimize maneuvers and improve coordination on board. These efforts have resulted in steady progress since the start of the season.
Next step: Act 3 of the Ocean Fifty Series with the Rolex Fastnet Race, starting from Cherbourg on July 26. Erwan Le Roux and Audrey Ogereau will be sailing double-handed, with the aim of maintaining their performance while preserving the collective dynamic.
