Ocean Fifty Series - Act 2 - Inter Invest Sailing Team takes second place in Concarneau

Sailing and yacht racing - Thanks to a thunderous start to the competition and technical mastery in changing conditions, the team led by Sébastien Rogues climbed onto the second step of the podium at the end of the Concarneau stage of the Ocean Fifty Series.

Ocean Fifty Series - Act 2 - Inter Invest Sailing Team takes second place in Concarneau

On the waters of Concarneau, Inter Invest Sailing Team set a strong pace from the first day of inshore racing. Taking advantage of stable weather conditions and steady winds of around 15 knots, the crew distinguished themselves by winning four of the five races contested. This flying start put them at the top of the provisional rankings.

However, the weather took a turn for the worse the following day. The wind became more unstable and irregular, making tactical decisions more complex. Faced with a dense fleet of seven other multihulls, the team remained competitive despite slightly lower performance. Koesio, led by Erwan Le Roux, took advantage of this to catch up, engaging in a close battle for first place.

The next two days shifted to a coastal format with a double coefficient, increasing the stakes of each race. But the unsettled weather conditions continued to play havoc. Despite course adjustments, Inter Invest was unable to hold off Koesio's comeback and lost the lead on Saturday evening. The next day, with one final race underway, the organizers canceled the leg due to lack of wind, freezing the previous day's rankings.

With a total of 19 points, Inter Invest Sailing Team finished second, just behind Koesio (22 points). This result also allowed them to move up to second place in the overall Ocean Fifty Series standings. This stage also marked an important transition within the crew: Sébastien Rogues handed over the reins to Matthieu Perraut, who will take command of the trimaran for the next offshore events.

The next big event is the Rolex Fastnet Race on July 26, between Cowes and Cherbourg, where Matthieu Perraut will take on his new role as skipper. This strategic change is in line with the team's desire to build on solid complementarity and a stronger collective dynamic.
