The new Beneteau Gran Turismo 35 and 40 unveiled in Cannes

Beneteau continues to evolve its range of sport cruisers with the launch of the Beneteau Gran Turismo 35 and Beneteau Gran Turismo 40 Coupé, two models designed to combine style, performance, and comfort on board. Inspired by the “Air Step” concept, both models feature a hull designed to optimize speed and stability while maintaining fuel efficiency.

These two cruising boats, measuring 11.5 and 13 meters in length respectively, have been designed to meet the expectations of customers looking for sporty handling and a refined living environment. One of the distinctive features of the design is the fluid line of the hardtop, now available in a closed version, which protects the cockpit while maintaining direct access to natural light. This electrically operated hardtop extends the period of use of the boats beyond the traditional summer season.

The deck plan has been redesigned to optimize outdoor space. On both models, the aft swim platform has been enlarged, making launching easier. The L-shaped cockpit features a convertible table and a sun deck, with easy access to the helm station equipped with bolster seats. The sporty helm station retains its well-designed ergonomics, with centralized instrumentation, a multifunction display, and intuitive controls.

Inside, both models emphasize a user-friendly and functional layout, with the absence of hull windows being surprising.

The Gran Turismo 35 offers two enclosed cabins and a bright saloon with sea views, while the larger GT 40 offers more headroom, a separate saloon, and a forward owner's cabin. Light woods and lacquered furniture create a contemporary atmosphere, while side portholes and skylights provide natural ventilation and plenty of light.

The engine options vary depending on the version. The GT 35 is available with two 300 hp Mercury Verado outboard engines or two 260 hp Z-Drive diesel engines, while the GT 40 Coupe is equipped with two Volvo D4 or D6 Z-Drive engines or two 400 hp Mercury outboard engines. This diversity allows the boats to be adapted to different styles of sailing, from fast coastal cruising to extended voyages.

The atmosphere on board is resolutely focused on relaxation and sharing, with layouts designed to allow owners to enjoy both their stops and their sailing. There is plenty of storage space, both in the cabins and on deck, and the meticulous finishes reflect the care taken throughout the project.

Beneteau has also reinforced the sound and thermal insulation (a real problem on board express cruisers...) on these two models to improve comfort both while sailing and at anchor. Owners will also benefit from onboard connectivity thanks to the integrated electronic equipment.

These two new models are part of a broader strategy by the shipyard to renew and revitalize its offering in the sports cruiser segment. By positioning the GT 35 and GT 40 Coupé as boats that are both accessible and well-equipped, Beneteau is targeting a demanding audience of boaters who are attracted to fast, safe, and well-designed boats.

By adopting the comfort standards of larger boats and incorporating innovations from previous generations, these two models mark a new impetus for the Gran Turismo range. They complement an already wide range of products, appealing to customers who want to combine the pleasure of sailing with onboard performance, without compromise.

With this duo, Beneteau illustrates its desire to remain present in the mid-size motorboat segment, focusing on contemporary architecture and a simplified user experience. These two models, which draw on the shipyard's DNA, demonstrate a clear orientation: that of more accessible yachting, without sacrificing performance or comfort.
