These transactions confirm sustained interest in this fast coupé positioned within the premium dayboat segment. They also mark a notable return to deliveries in Turkey, historically an important market for the brand, while Monaco continues to serve as a strategic showcase for yachts with a strong stylistic identity.
Founded in the Netherlands in the early 2000s, Zeelander Yachts has gradually established itself in the compact luxury yacht segment with a distinctive aesthetic. The yard has built its reputation on a combination of retro-contemporary lines, superyacht-inspired finishes and particular attention to acoustic comfort and ride quality.
The current range extends from the Zeelander 5 to the Zeelander 8, a 24-metre (79-foot) flagship. Each model is conceived as a semi-custom platform, offering a high level of detail in the selection of materials, colours and layouts. Construction follows a rigorous process, particularly regarding exterior paintwork and sound insulation – two aspects frequently highlighted by the yard.
At 14.7 metres in length, the Zeelander 5 is often described by the builder as a “mini superyacht”, a term reflecting several technical and aesthetic features.
The hull and superstructure benefit from a nine-layer metallic paint process designed to ensure colour depth and durability. Specific work has been undertaken on sound insulation to reduce vibration and noise levels, both at cruising speed and under higher engine loads. The objective is to deliver an onboard experience characterised by quietness and smoothness.
Aft, the extended bathing platform creates a waterside space more commonly associated with larger yachts. This arrangement enhances the model’s versatility, allowing it to function as a dayboat while retaining the capability for more extended coastal cruising.
The Zeelander 5 is available with twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines. This configuration provides joystick-assisted manoeuvrability in harbours and confined spaces, while also delivering strong performance. The maximum speed is quoted at around 40 knots, depending on the engine setup selected.
The hull form has been optimised to provide a stable, dry ride, including at higher speeds. The yard also highlights a cruising range of approximately 450 nautical miles at cruising speed, a significant figure for a yacht of this size and category. This range allows for extended passages along Mediterranean coastlines or between archipelagos without excessive reliance on technical stopovers.
Tank capacity and onboard systems management are designed to enhance autonomy and comfort, two criteria that have become central in the premium compact yacht segment.
Although positioned primarily as a dayboat, the Zeelander 5’s interior adopts design codes closer to those of cruising yachts. The deck saloon combines deep seating, a dining table for four and 360-degree panoramic views. This sense of openness is made possible by minimising traditional mullions between the windows, reinforcing visual continuity with the exterior.
Below deck, access is via a gently curved staircase leading to two cabins. The owner’s suite features a transverse bed positioned to maximise natural light through the hull portholes, along with dedicated storage and a dressing area. Forward, the guest cabin offers two long single berths with access to a bathroom equipped with a separate shower.
The overall concept aims to deliver a level of sophistication rarely seen on 48-foot yachts, while maintaining a functional layout suited to multi-day stays.
These two early-year sales strengthen Zeelander Yachts’ position in the high-end compact yacht segment, where differentiation through design and build quality plays a decisive role.
This momentum comes as the yard prepares to launch the second Zeelander 8, its 24-metre flagship. The forthcoming delivery is expected to consolidate the brand’s presence at the upper end of its range.
