The Air Deck attaches beneath the bathing platform and follows the contours of the outboard engines. Once inflated, it creates a stable floating surface that naturally extends the cockpit aft. The result is additional space in direct contact with the water, designed to be both comfortable and secure.
Unlike structural solutions adopted by some builders – such as fold-down bulwarks – the Air Deck remains fully removable. It is deployed only at anchor or when the boat is stationary, then detached and stored in the cockpit when cruising resumes. Inflation is carried out using an electric pump, simplifying installation and handling.
The joint development with Acon places strong emphasis on stability and material durability. The platform is engineered to provide a surface firm enough for moving around, sitting or preparing to swim, while retaining the flexibility inherent to inflatable structures.
By wrapping around the engines, the Air Deck maximises the usable beam at the stern. This configuration creates a versatile zone: a play area for children, a relaxation space for adults, or a platform facilitating access to the water. The objective is to increase conviviality at anchor without compromising safety.
Yamarin plans to offer the Air Deck as an option on the larger boats in its range. The equipment is positioned as an enhancement to onboard experience rather than a fundamental architectural change.
With this solution, the Finnish builder explores a middle ground between modularity and ease of use. The Air Deck thus emerges as a pragmatic response to the growing demand for additional onboard space, now a central criterion in the design of contemporary leisure boats.
