French Region Nouvelle Aquitaine supports the Neel Trimarans shipyard (La Rochelle)

On July 17th, the Permanent Commission of the Regional Council of Nouvelle Aquitaine, decided to support the cruising boat builder Neel Trimarans from La Rochelle.

Based right in the heart of the technical area of the Port of La Rochelle, Neel Trimarans, has turned the market for cruising trimarans upside down, by being the first builder in the sector to equip them with a habitable platform, identical in concept to what exists on catamarans, making them much more versatile than before.

It is the capacity for innovation of the yard managed by Eric Bruneel, and 3 of its current projects, that the Regional Council wanted to help :

  • The development of an innovative concept of offshore motor yachting trimarans, the Leen. These boats will be innovative in terms of hull, hybrid motorization and manufacturing process.
  • The production of a new model of sailing trimaran, the NEEL 43, using 50% bio-sourced and recyclable materials for the interior of the boat.
  • The study of new bio-sourced materials in order to replace the dangerous and polluting products used in shipbuilding.
