M/Y K-42 is a 5-deck, 9.20m wide yacht; she has a huge beach club located on the lower deck, and very spacious outdoor areas among which the main deck that can accommodate a 10m tender. It’s been developed an exclusive “owner deck” on which there is a master bedroom, a large saloon, and a Jacuzzi.

The second unit, which follows the production philosophy of the Series K – of which Floating Life is the sole proprietor – has been entrusted – for the naval architecture (for K42 in collaboration with Hydrotec) and design – to Studio Sculli in Sarzana (La Spezia), which successfully designed the first yacht of the series (K-40, 40m), and with whom Floating Life has been cooperating for over twenty years based on mutual trust, shared ideas, tastes, and goals.

Designed, created, and built following the “explorer” concept, M/Y K-42 will be a custom built with materials and finishing of the highest quality to satisfy the client’s requests. Based on the proven naval platform tested by Floating Life, each new client of this series will be able to choose a completely personalized superstructure, layout, and interior design. Following the production philosophy that Floating Life has been developing for this series, the industrial platform (hull) of Series K – which includes K-42 and K-40 – has been studied with a sophisticated hydrodynamic program, and tank-tested with a prototype in Goteborg (SSPA), confirming the correct project decisions.

Andrea Pezzini, CEO of Floating Life and project manager for the Series K, comments on the appointment for Yachting Art Magazine: “The decision to assign the construction of the second project of the Series K t o Cantiere Delle Marche has been the result of a thorough selection among numerous shipyards worldwide. We’ve encountered the complete availability from the shipyard in working on a completely custom design. Similarly, the decision to entrust the design with Studio Sculli was born from a relationship of trust, twenty years of collaboration, and the perfect harmony between the characteristic style of Sculli and the taste stated by the client.
