As every year, the Bénéteau Foundation holds an architecture contest. The theme of its 7th edition will be catamarans.

In order to promote and encourage innovation in the world of boating and housing, Fondation d'entreprise Bénéteau is organising its seventh annual competition for students enrolled at a European architecture, engineering, design or art school or attending a university course relevant to the stated objective.

This contest is open to students enrolled in architecture, engineering, design or art schools all over Europe, or following a university curriculum related to the aforementioned problematics.

Entrants will be asked to use their imagination to write down and draw the sailing catamaran of their dreams. Outside some restrictions on the catamaran’s size (between 30 and 40 feet), the only limit will be their imagination. However, the jury expects students to put an emphasis on key elements such as technological advances, environmental friendliness, design, onboard comfort and functionality.

Students will have to send them their complete file before October 14 2017. This file must encompass sketches, plans and descriptions of the boat’s accommodation, perspective views and a short introduction to the overall concept.

The jury will be headed by president of the Bénéteau Foundation Annette Roux and made up of photographers, architects, nautical journalists as well as some key personalities from Groupe Bénéteau and its subsidiaries, including Lagoon. Awards will be presented to the three students whose submitted projects were deemed the most creative and original by the jury.
