Mercury Marine won a Miami Innovation Award at the Miami International Boat Show 2023 in the Electric Motor/Battery Propulsion/Hybrid category for the Mercury Avator 7.5e electric motor.

This year's judging panel included members of Boating Writers International (BWI), while the award winners in various categories were selected by the National Marine Manufacture Association (NMMA).

The Avator 7.5e electric outboard motor is more accessible and durable than other motors in boating because of its smart battery technology and ease of use.

"A lot of thought went into the design of Mercury's Avator, including convenient battery replacement, a bar that serves as a carrying handle and easy removal of the motor from the transom arm," said judge Zuzana Prochazka.
