How much have SUPERYACHTS prices risen in 3 years??

Boating and yachting - Over the past three years, prices have risen sharply in the boating and yachting sector, with less impact on the 'from' list prices generally displayed than on prices including options that are almost always chosen by customers.

In fact, an outboard motor yacht that cost 85,000 euros turnkey to buy in 2019 will be worth no less than 120,000 euros in 2022-2023. Market trends indicate increases of between 30% and 50%.

How much have SUPERYACHTS prices risen in 3 years??

But what about luxury yachts and superyachts? Have prices skyrocketed?

ActuNautique Yachting Art went fishing for information, looking at the evolution of the selling price per linear metre of superyacht, which gives an idea of the direct price of a vessel, whatever its model, between the years 2019 and 2022.

Precise information from the Férretti Group.

PERSHING: "restraint"

At Pershing, the price per linear metre of yacht has risen from €2.9 million to €3.7 million, an increase of 27%, below the market trend. Relative wisdom, then!

WALLY: "champion of all categories"

Wally is undoubtedly the champion of price increases, with the price of its linear metre of hull having risen from 900,000 euros to... 2.3 million in 3 years! This development follows the takeover of the shipyard by the Ferretti group, which has completely overturned Wally's business model. Until then, the brand's business model had been conceived in an old-fashioned way, which had led it into a dead end. The benefits for a yacht brand - however prestigious - of being part of a structured group.

RIVA: "in line with the market"

At Riva, the increase was +41%, in line with the market trend, with prices rising from €2.9 million to €4 million! Riva benefits from its strong brand franchise in a very competitive market. When the image is there, as well as the product quality, price elasticity is stronger!

Ferretti Yachts: "restraint!"

The Italian brand Ferretti Yachts was restrained in its pricing between 2019 and 2022, as its prices rose by 'only' 17%, from €2.4 million to €2.8 million per linear metre of yacht. The reason for this is likely to be stronger competition, and the shipyard's desire to build customer loyalty in its core target market.

CUSTOM LINE: "the wise choice!"

Custon Line, the Ferretti Group's custom superyacht brand, has been on the safe side over the past 3 years, with sales price growth limited to 11%, from .... 9.3 million to €10.3 million per metre! At these price levels, and in the face of fierce competition and project managers capable of dissecting the price of a superyacht down to the last nut, there's no question of adding too much margin, or risk losing the project!

Decoding - It's interesting to note that these price changes have taken place against a backdrop of rising component prices, but have been accepted by customers because of major range renewals, with more technological offerings and an increase in the size of the yachts sold. This is also due to the disappearance of various discounts, following strong demand and the arrival on the market of new owners who are breaking with traditional purchasing codes.
