Leonardo Yachts Eagle 38, the 38' that turns heads

The Leonardo Yachts Eagle 38 is a real eye-catcher. At the Boot show in Düsseldorf, it attracted so much curiosity from passers-by that it made it difficult to shoot this film.

It has to be said that this Eagle 38 looks good in a hall full of white yachts without much personality.

Steven Boersma, the founder, is currently working on his second project. He is the man behind Da Vinci, the beautiful Dutch motoryachts, hand-built in the Netherlands with an attention to detail that only artisanal shipyards are capable of delivering.

With Leonardo Yachts, the programme is different. Boersma wanted to offer the most beautiful yachts on the market. And that's all there is to it. To achieve this, he worked with famous architects such as Dykstra and Hoek Design for this Eagle 38.

The Eagle is a composite, glass or carbon yacht that hides its true colours admirably. Without knowing them, you'd think they were classics, perfectly restored. Raised stern, deep bathtub cockpit, wide steering wheel and, above all, magnificent wood throughout.

The Eagle 38 is a daysailer, a competitor to the Saffier SE37 or the Sunbeam, all three brands with their own distinct personality in this segment. Weighing less than 5 tonnes and measuring 11.77 metres, it's a sporty machine with a long keel, but easy to handle with winches and an electric clew rail.

It is available in diesel or electric versions with an Oceanvolt saildrive.
