The interesting thing about the Robb Report Awards is that they are global, covering all the luxury, automotive, aviation, yachting, watchmaking and food markets...., and each time highlighting companies and managers who have distinguished themselves in their respective markets.
In the yachting sector, Sunreef once again made the difference with its eco-responsible range of luxury yachts, the Sunreef 100 ECO winning the Best of the Best Award 2024.
Sunreef's eco-responsible yachts offer a degree of innovation and emissions reduction that is currently unique in the yachting industry.
While the Sunreef 100 ECO is first and foremost a luxury 100' sailing catamaran that can be customised to the owner's liking, according to a semi-custom programme, it is also a compendium of innovation in the decarbonisation of yachts.
This approach is currently unique, incorporating two major components:
In terms of construction, Sunreef Yachts uses bio-sourced resins and structural foams made from recycled PET, in other words recycled water bottles! A unique choice in the superyacht market, which considerably reduces the boat's carbon footprint.
In terms of reducing emissions related to the use of the boat (85% of emissions over the life cycle), the shipyard created by Francis Lapp, an industrial expert in electricity, began by carrying out a complete energy balance of its boats, to develop specific consumers, consuming much less than conventional consumers (desalination, air conditioning, lighting, electric motors. .), high-capacity batteries.... but ultra-light (a well-kept secret by the shipyard), and really efficient on-board energy producers (integrated photovoltaic panels, really useful hydrogeneration...).
All in all, Sunreef ECO range yachts are the only virtually autonomous yachts on the market, which is a real plus and a real differentiator in the superyacht market.
A unique position, rewarded by this Best of the Best Award from the Robb Report.
