With a Masters in electronics engineering, 49-year old Dutchspeaking Belgian national, Erwin Bamps started his career in Asia with a Belgian electronics engineering firm before moving to Dubai in 1998 and then to the Philippines on behalf of a Chinese telecommunications conglomerate.
He joined Gulf Craft in 2002, which builds luxury yachts and fiberglass boats, to head up its industrial and commercial operations, before quickly becoming its CEO. Over the last 16 years, he has been a key driving force behind this motor yacht builder development, especially in the Middle East and Asia.
Created over 20 years ago, Prestige is present worldwide thanks to its network of 200 dealers and its 13 motor yachts ranging from 42 to 75 feet. The brand is widely recognized in Europe and North America. Erwin Bamps will lead its development in the Middle East and Asia, while continuing to strengthen its luxury position across all the markets.
"I firmly believe that Erwin's industrial, sales and communications expertise, his leadership and his knowledge of the highly exclusive large motor yachts market will enable him to achieve these goals", adds Jean-Paul Chapeleau, CEO Jeanneau Prestige to Yachting Art Magazine.
