In 2025, BIO-UV Group will celebrate a quarter of a century in business. Specialising in water treatment, the French company has established itself as a leading international player, with disinfection technologies based on ultraviolet light, ozone, salt electrolysis and advanced oxidation processes.
Since its creation in 2000, BIO-UV Group has experienced sustained growth, consolidated by a policy of targeted investments and acquisitions.
Listed on Euronext Growth since 2018, the company raised €10 million during its initial public offering, followed by two capital increases in 2020 and 2025.
Its turnover amounted to €39.6 million in 2024, more than 50% of which was generated outside France. The group is now present in more than 70 countries and employs more than 160 people.
Strategic Organisation and Acquisitions
BIO-UV Group structures its business around three complementary divisions: the sale of standard products, the design of customised solutions, and after-sales service including maintenance and spare parts. This organisation enables it to meet the needs of both private individuals and professionals: swimming pools, aquaculture, municipal water, industrial applications and ballast water management on ships.
The group's development has been supported by key acquisitions: Triogen, a Suez subsidiary specialising in ozone and UV technology, in 2019, and Corelec, the French leader in salt chlorination, in 2021. These integrations have expanded BIO-UV's technological offering and strengthened its presence in European markets.
Ever More Innovative Ideas
Since its inception, innovation has been the driving force behind the company. Milestones include approval for dechloramination in public swimming pools in 2004, international certification for ballast water treatment in 2013, and the rapid launch of the Bio-Scan surface disinfection system during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Recently, the group has launched several innovative products: O'Clear, a solution for residential swimming pools; the PPO3 ozone generator; and Cubiq, a modular system dedicated to wastewater reuse.
European production committed to the environment
The equipment is designed and manufactured in France in Lunel and Muret, and in Scotland in Glasgow. In 2023, the expansion of the Lunel site (€2.2 million) increased the group's industrial capacity.
Certified ISO 26000 in 2024, the company is also committed to climate action and inclusion: a 5% annual reduction in its carbon footprint, solar panels, biodiversity awareness campaigns and partnerships with inclusive organisations.
A growing global presence
BIO-UV Group is continuing its expansion through strategic partnerships. An exclusive agreement with Pinnacle Ozone Solutions opens up new opportunities in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Another partnership with InnovaSea targets the aquaculture sector in North America.
To date, more than 3,000 drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities, 800 ships equipped with ballast water treatment systems, 6,000 public swimming pools and more than 200,000 private swimming pools and spas use BIO-UV solutions. In 2024, nearly 717 million cubic metres of water were treated.
