As General Manager, Joris Neven will be responsible for driving and developing all aspects of the Superyacht division of Simpson Marine including superyacht charter and management together with the sale of new and brokerage yachts.

“Over the past 3 years and in particular in the past 18 months we have seen a growing interest in Superyachts around the region. Simpson Marine has sold yachts in all parts of Asia and a number of owners are now enquiring about bigger yachts. We have therefore decided the time is right to set up a separate Superyacht division within the Group under the direction of a dedicated Superyacht GM. Joris Neven brings with him many years of experience in the marine industry and will be supporting our sales teams throughout the region as well as developing our yacht management and charter capability”, said Mike Simpson, Managing Director of Simpson Marine to Yachting Art.

Joris Neven is a Belgian national born and raised in the Congo. He has a degree in commercial engineering and is a former seagoing deck officer in the merchant navy. With over 30 years of experience in the marine industry and a solid background in superyachts, Joris has worked for the best Dutch, German and French shipyards including Blohm+ Voss and Damen Shipyards, where he was Commercial Director for 18 years.

He is fluent in Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese and is currently studying Mandarin.

Prior to relocating to Hong Kong, Joris Neven spent one month at the Sanlorenzo shipyard in Italy, to learn firsthand the essential ingredients that make Sanlorenzo one of today’s most sought after brands dedicated to offering truly unique ‘’made to measure’’ yachts tailor-made according the specific requests and style of each individual customer.  

Simpson Marine is the exclusive Asian distributor for Sanlorenzo’s range of production yachts from 78 to 126 feet, and custom built steel and aluminum superyachts from 40m to 64m and the brand will be the mainstay of Simpson Superyachts division.

Since becoming exclusive distributor for Sanlorenzo last year, Simpson Marine has sold 3 superyachts including an iconic 460EXP, expedition yacht, which will be delivered in July 2018.
