Bénéteau Group completes the acquisition of Delphia

On November 30, 2018 in Warsaw, Poland, Groupe Beneteau and Delphia Yachts Kot sp. j. reached financial closing of the acquisition by Groupe Beneteau of its operations designing, building and marketing sailing and motor yachts under the Delphia Yachts and Maxi Yachts brands.

This acquisition was made through a dedicated Polish entity called Stocznia Jachtowa Delphia sp. z.o.o. in which the Group’s Polish subsidiary Ostroda Yachts sp. z.o.o. is holding 80% of the share capital, while Delphia Yachts Kot sp. j. retains 20% of such share capital.

The acquisition agreement and its rationale was announced by Groupe Beneteau on July 12, 2018.

Decryption - The purchase of Delphia Yachts by the Bénéteau group is quite logical. Delphia is one of the leaders in the construction of pleasure boats in Poland, with well-established brands in Central Europe and Scandinavia such as Delphia and Maxi Yachts, which ideally complements the range of French brands, from both product and geographical coverage point of view. The two companies know each other well, Delphia being a historical subcontractor of Groupe Bénéteau, renowned for its design office and the quality of its productions. With this acquisition, Bénéteau is endowed with additional production capacities that were lacking. In short, a triple hit in terms of product, design / development and manufacturing. It should be noted that with this acquisition, Bénéteau is definitely becoming the leading player in boating and yachting in Poland.
