For Alex, life changed during the 2019 Yachting Festival, when he received a phone call from the Excess Catamarans shipyard telling him that he was the winner of the Excess Challenge!

The Excess Challenge consisted of a virtual record, leading the participants, on board an Excess 11, to connect Cannes from Barcelona, in real weather conditions.

The first prize of this challenge consisted of... an Excess 11, a sports catamaran worth nearly 300,000 euros, one of the 5 models of this new multihull brand, launched by Groupe Bénéteau!

It was in the middle of the Yachting Festival that the announcement of the winner was made, knowing that Alex, a 33-year-old professional sailor from Marseille, did not receive the good news until the very day of the ceremony, at 14:00, for an official announcement made on the show scheduled for 19:00, the emails from the Excess Catamarans yard having gone into the spam box of his mailbox.
