From the Caribbean Sea to the Mediterranean, the 2025 season confirmed Wally's central role on the international offshore racing scene. Present at the world's major regattas, the Italian brand's fleet has distinguished itself on all waters, accumulating podium finishes and victories in the most prestigious events, from the RORC Nelson's Cup Series in Antigua to the Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
Beyond the sporting results, this season also reflects a global dynamic around innovation and design in high-level racing, an area where Wally continues to play a role as a technological laboratory for performance at sea.
Founded in 1994 by Luca Bassani, an Italian entrepreneur with a passion for sailing, Wally Yachts has revolutionised yachting with its approach combining avant-garde design, sporting performance and on-board comfort. The brand, now part of the Ferretti Group, has established itself as a leading player in the design of high-end sailing and motor yachts.
Its iconic models – such as the Wallycento, the Wally 80, the Wallypower 118 and, more recently, the Wallyrocket – embody a philosophy centred on simple lines, aerodynamic efficiency and the use of cutting-edge materials, particularly carbon fibre.
Wally is also renowned for its ability to transfer technologies developed for competition to the pleasure craft sector, an approach that has enabled it to occupy a unique position at the frontier between pure performance and minimalist design.
The 2025 season got underway under the Caribbean sun at the RORC Nelson's Cup Series in Antigua. The Wally Bullitt (93') won the Maxi category, ahead of two other boats in the fleet, V and Galateia, which finished second and fourth respectively. These two yachts then confirmed their consistency by taking the lead in the St Barths Bucket Regatta, one of the most renowned regattas in the Caribbean.
A few weeks later, at the North Sound Maxi Regatta in the British Virgin Islands, V once again distinguished itself by winning overall and in the Maxi 1 class, followed by Bullitt and Galateia.
The Mediterranean season took over in the spring with the PalmaVela in Mallorca, where Tilakkhana II (Wallycento) and Rose (Wally80) took the top two places in the Maxi class, while the Wallynano37 Little Thila won the Spirit of Tradition category.
At the same time, the new Wallyrocket51 Django won the Italian Tyrrhenian Sea Championship in Sorrento, marking the promising debut of a new generation of Wally monohulls.
At the IMA Maxi European Championship, Wally achieved an unprecedented triple victory in the Maxi 1 category, with Galateia, V and Bullitt taking the top three places on the podium. Other models also distinguished themselves in the lower classes, notably Sensei (94') and Sud (Wally80), confirming the diversity and competitiveness of the fleet.
At the Giraglia Loro Piana in Saint-Tropez, several Wally yachts were among the best performers in the Maxi A category, while Sud secured a podium place in Maxi B. In Greece, at the Cyclades Cup, Galma (Wallywind110), Wally B (107’) and Barong D (110’) achieved an all-Wally triple in the Meltemi class, demonstrating the versatility of the models in varied weather conditions.
The dominance continued at the Palma Superyacht Cup, won by Rose, while Green Eyes (107') took line honours at the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy in Cascais.
In Cowes, during the Admiral's Cup, the Wallyrocket51 Django attracted considerable interest for its performance, winning several races and finishing third in the overall team standings.
The highlight of the season, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo confirmed Wally's place among the most successful builders: Galateia won the world title in the Maxi 1 category, followed by Bullitt and V, while the Wallyrocket71 Django 7X took first place in the Maxi Grand Prix World Championship.
Finally, at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the brand's flagship event, the Wally fleet once again shone. Django 7X won the Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez Trophy in the Maxi Grand Prix category, while V took home the Edmond de Rothschild Trophy. Other boats, such as Lyra (Wally77), Rose and Sud, also secured podium places in their respective divisions.
The season concluded with Galateia being named Best Maxi Inshore of the Year 2025 by the International Maxi Association, ahead of V.
Beyond sporting performance, Wally celebrated its heritage and identity this year through the event ‘The Bow Glows’, organised from 28 September to 5 October in Saint-Tropez, in partnership with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez and Range Rover.
The programme, combining design, gastronomy and innovation, culminated in a culinary gala by Alajmo Eventi at Casa Wally, within the grounds of the Musée de l'Annonciade.
This event, which brings together owners, architects and sailing enthusiasts, illustrates the brand's desire to maintain a link between competition and lifestyle, two dimensions that are inseparable from its DNA.
