The Escape 650 and Escape 750 models, designed for the North American market, mark a key milestone in the brand's industrial expansion. By replacing aluminium with fibreglass and localising production, Highfield is circumventing the 50% tariffs imposed on foreign metals while reducing its dependence on imports.
The company anticipated these developments by opening a factory in Cadillac, Michigan, in 2023 to secure its supply chain and mitigate the impact of US protectionist policies. This facility allows it to assemble its models locally, better control production costs and ensure faster availability on the local market.
On a technical level, the Escape 650 (7.2 m) can be fitted with an outboard motor ranging from 225 to 250 horsepower, while the Escape 750 (8.1 m) can accommodate up to 300 horsepower, reaching speeds of around 50 mph. The 26-degree deep V hulls promote stability and performance, both on lakes and in coastal waters.
The interior design emphasises modularity and comfort, with dual helm stations, spacious bench seats and a forward sun deck. With this series, Highfield is adapting its production to US demand while consolidating its strategy of autonomy in the face of trade tensions between China and the United States.
