Leopard 52: a 15.40-metre catamaran unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival

Leopard Catamarans (PPF Group) chose the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival to unveil the Leopard 52, the successor to the Leopard 50, in a world premiere. Built by Robertson & Caine in South Africa, this 15.40-metre catamaran embodies the evolution of a range dedicated to long-distance cruising. The shipyard is promoting a model that is modular, high-performance and suitable for a variety of boating activities, whether for private ownership or charter.

Leopard 52 - Modular interior and exterior layouts

With a width of 8.45 metres, the Leopard 52 prioritises space and conviviality. The catamaran is available in several configurations, from three to six cabins, with an option for a crew cabin. The layout of the interior spaces allows families and crews to be accommodated in a high level of comfort.

The open aft cockpit, watertight forward door and fluid circulation between spaces create an environment conducive to life on board. Inside, meticulous finishes, indirect lighting and modular furniture contribute to a contemporary atmosphere inspired by luxury hotels.

Leopard 52 - Nautical performance and technical innovations

The Leopard 52 benefits from a hull developed by naval architects Simonis Voogd Design. Hydrodynamic optimisations improve stability and reduce pitching, promoting comfortable sailing even in rough seas.

The sail area has been increased by 17% compared to the Leopard 50, offering more power and better response under sail. Equipment can include a square-top mainsail and a covering genoa, improving performance in moderate winds.

Leopard 52 - A catamaran focused on sustainability

In a context where boating is adapting to energy challenges, the Leopard 52 incorporates eco-friendly solutions. The model can be equipped with 400 W solar panels, a lithium battery bank and an electric propulsion system combined with a hydrogenerator, developed in partnership with Joool. These features reduce fuel consumption and increase energy autonomy while sailing.

Leopard 52 - International reach for a high-end sailing boat

After its presentation in Europe, the Leopard 52 will be unveiled in October 2025 at the Annapolis Boat Show in the United States. This catamaran will be available for sale to private owners and for charter through The Moorings fleet, under the name Moorings 5200.

With this model, Leopard Catamarans confirms its ambition: to offer an ocean-going catamaran that combines comfort, performance and innovative solutions to appeal to both experienced sailors and newcomers to nautical tourism.
