Dufour Yachts and ODSea+ at Nice Boating Tomorrow: hybridisation already at work on the Dufour 48

The La Rochelle-based builder will showcase its Dufour 48 at Nice Boating Tomorrow, fitted with the ODSea+ system – an operational hybrid solution combining electric propulsion, onboard energy production and optimised power management.

Dufour Yachts and ODSea+ at Nice Boating Tomorrow: hybridisation already at work on the Dufour 48

Dufour Yachts will attend Nice Boating Tomorrow to highlight the Dufour 48 equipped with ODSea+, a technology already integrated into the shipyard’s catalogue. This hybrid configuration brings together an electric motor, high-capacity batteries, solar panels and a hydrogenerator in order to increase the yacht’s energy autonomy.

The system enables manoeuvring and low-speed cruising in electric mode, with no direct emissions and significantly reduced noise levels. Under sail, the hydrogenerator helps recharge the batteries, complementing solar production and improving overall onboard energy management. The objective is to limit reliance on the internal combustion engine and rationalise consumption during extended passages.

The Dufour 48 nevertheless retains the core attributes of a modern cruising yacht: a performance-oriented hull, stability across a range of points of sail and generous interior volumes. The layout prioritises natural light, modular cabin configurations and a level of finish consistent with the brand’s upmarket positioning.

At Nice Boating Tomorrow, an event dedicated to innovative maritime solutions and energy transitions within the boating sector, Dufour Yachts will present a concrete application of hybrid technology for bluewater cruising, illustrating the evolution of onboard systems already available on the market.
