A record crowd of 3,000 people showed up over the course of the two-day event in the Netherlands, testing 60 different boats from small inflatables, pontoons and fiberglass boats powered by an entire fleet of Mercury power including FourStroke outboards, high horsepower Verados as well as twin DSI Optimax Diesel and twin Mercury Diesel V8-4.2 TDI engines.
Many of the boats had the newest technology from Mercury Marine such as Active Trim and joystick piloting.
“Each year we raise the bar on what is possible for Mercury Days,” said Martin Bass, Mercury Marine president Europe, Middle East & Africa to Yachting Art Magazine. “This year, we had fantastic weather, great crowds and the perfect mix of power for customers to experience. It was a huge success and we look forward to an even better event in 2017.”
This year, the event also had 20 boats on the water equipped with the latest fishing technology so visitors could experience the lifestyle with some of Mercury’s angling ambassadors such as Daan Verbruggen, Chris Bloemert, Marcel Asbroek and Marc Hoeben.
In addition, Marco Kraal, popular television host and angler at VisTV was on-hand both days to talk to boaters, kids and share his experiences on the water. Kids and families from all over Europe had the chance to experience the Mercury lifestyle both on-water, and on-land.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better event,” said Hans Roelants, Mercury Marine director Benelux & Germany. “The boats looked great, the engines ran perfectly and we were able to show off the latest technology offered by Mercury Marine.”
