The Malta-based group of companies MSAR, owned by Jack Wijnants, has completed the purchase of Jetten Jachtbouw shipyard. MSAR builds 15 to 42-metre patrol, rescue and multi-purpose boats. In addition, the group owns luxury catamarans brand AmaSea Yachts, and has now added Jetten Jachtbouw to its asset portfolio.

Established in 1997 in the Netherlands, Jetten Jachtbouw has built around 350 yachts over the years. Mostly these were steel yachts up to 45 feet to be used in inland waters and by the charter industry. In addition, the Dutch shipyard served as subcontractor for other brands, such as Gamma Yachts, and launched a yacht for the famous singer Andrea Bocelli.

“The plan for Jetten Jachtbouw is to step away from the traditional Dutch building in steel and aluminum,” says Jack Wijnants, owner of MSAR, AmaSea Yachts and Jetten Jachtbouw. “We are moving towards vacuum infused, carbon reinforced GRP, which is unique for a Dutch shipyard. We have maintained five key Jetten employees for the restart. We already have a new strategy for the brand, which is going to be building luxurious, stylish yachts up to 100 feet with spacious interiors, top level finishing, and low fuel consumption and maintenance costs.”

The first model of the new Jetten Jachtbouw range features exterior and interior by famous Dutch designer Cor D. Rover, who works with a number of high-profile shipyards, including Royal Huisman, Horizon, Sirena, Zeelander Yachts, Van der Valk, etc.
