Pinball - A 100% French electric-hybrid boat with a unique concept

Conceived by Pascal Duclos, a pioneer of electric vehicles in France, the Pinball boat is designed to offer a completely new sailing experience. What's more, it is totally French, from design to manufacture.

Pinball - A 100% French electric-hybrid boat with a unique concept

In 2016, Pascal Duclos created the start-up Pinball Boat, already working on a dual-mode electric-hybrid engine, the layout of the living space and the hull. In 2020, relaunching the Ocqueteau shipyard on the island of Oléron, the start-up launched its very first models. Today, the first customers are enjoying their custom-built boats.

"After launching one of the first electric utility vehicles with the creation of Goupil, I wanted to adapt this mode of operation, and its ease of driving, to the marine environment. To create the Pinball, we carried out several years of research to optimise not only the engine, but also the boat's hull and its living space, to make it a boat that's easy to live with. And we succeeded!" explains Pascal Duclos.

Designed to provide safe, easy and convivial sailing for everyone, the Pinball is easy to manoeuvre and has everything you need to welcome family and friends. Its dual-mode motor allows precise electric navigation in shallow waters, but also the speed and range needed to cover long distances at high speed.

Pascal Duclos talks about this exceptional manoeuvrability:

"Manoeuvring a 9-metre boat, and especially getting it in and out of port, can be a tricky business if you're not used to it. With the Pinball, we absolutely wanted to enable everyone to take the helm with complete peace of mind. And that's exactly what we set out to achieve: driving a Pinball is almost as easy as driving a car

But above all, the Pinball is a convivial living space, designed in such a way that it has 20 m² of available surface area, i.e. 45% more usable surface area than standard boats of this size. With a breakfast area, large sundeck, tilting sundeck, toilet and shower area, the boat can accommodate up to 15 people and even offers an igloo cabin under the sundeck, which can be raised by electric jacks and contains a 140x200 cm berth.
