Signed Marc Lombard for the naval architecture and Nauta Design for the interior style, the Bénéteau Oceanis 37.1 had as specifications to offer more volume and more performance, while maintaining great ease of use.
On the hull side, the Bénéteau Oceanis 37.1 takes up the specificity inaugurated on this range, namely an accentuated belling at the level of the dead works, this longitudinal rib making it possible to maintain fluid lines at the level of the live works, offering more power and stability, while while maximizing the living space.
Like the Bénéteau Oceanis 30.1 and Bénéteau Oceanis 34.1, the Oceanis 37.1 skips the backstay, to offer a more open space and therefore opts for a pushing rig, with two floors. In standard version, the Oceanis 37.1 is offered with a self-tacking jib, while a more sporty version Oceanis 37.1 First Line is enriched with a square-headed sail and genoa offering 22% more canvas surface compared to the version classic. In order to remain manoeuvrable with a reduced crew, all the maneuvers of the Oceanis 37.1 come back to the two aft winches. The halyards however remain around the deckhouse. A helm console positioned on the starboard side houses all the instruments, including a 7-inch plotter.
In terms of life on board, the Bénéteau Oceanis 37.1 is characterized by a vast cockpit over 3m in length, very clear around the traditional central table. At anchor, once the helm seats are up, access to the sea is via a lowered platform, a guarantee of safety.
The saloon of the Oceanis 37.1 is organized around a lounge area positioned to port and a longitudinal galley facing it. The forward cabin has large hull windows allowing a view of the sea from the king size bed. In the two-bathroom version, the bed is offset against the starboard hull.
An electric version of the Oceanis 37.1, like the Oceanis 30.1 unveiled in December 2022, will be offered, with a 12kW pod and 10kWh of batteries. Bénéteau anticipates an autonomy of 2 hours at 5 knots between two charges. Bénéteau will be the only mass-produced builder to have 3 electric monohull sailboats in its range, when we add to the two Oceanis, the First 44, also unveiled in Paris!
The Bénéteau Oceanis 37.1 will have its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 12 to 17, 2023 and its American premiere at the Annapolis Sailboat Show from October 12 to 15, 2023. It will also be exhibited at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle and at the boat shows. nautical from Genoa and Barcelona.
