Germany - HanseYachts AG maintains its production of sailing yachts and motor boats

While the coronavirus crisis and the Covid-19 epidemic are affecting the production of pleasure boats in France and Italy, where most of the production sites are shut down, the German group HanseYachts is continuing to produce its various brands built in Germany, near the Polish border. Its French site in Les Sables d'Olonne, dedicated to the construction of catamarans (Privilège) is also continuing its activity.

In order to be able to maintain production at its Greifswald site, the German yacht builder HanseYachts has put in place a "comprehensive package of measures to meet the needs of its corporate social responsibility in this period of crisis".

In addition to strict hygiene regulations, the various work areas have been strictly separated and teleworking has been encouraged. External visitors as well as certain site employees are thus not allowed to enter the production sites in order to ensure the safety of site employees.

In addition, all national and international business trips and events have been cancelled. Due to the early entry into force of these measures, the yard is announcing a standard production level, giving it the capacity to deliver on time all orders placed, as well as to take new orders.

To this end, the storage capacity for parts and vessels would have been increased.

Jens Gerhardt, CEO of HanseYachts AG, comments on ActuNautyique Yachting Art: "We are still receiving inquiries and orders for new boats for the coming summer months. Our customers know that during these times a boat is the perfect place to spend a safe and carefree holiday in seclusion with their family. The best way is it is easier to spend a holiday than to escape to the sea"?
