Boating industries - Access to the sea for professionals now authorised in France

An instruction to this effect has just been sent to the Prefects. This return of professionals to access to the sea will help to unblock the situation of the sector, in particular by allowing the launching of new boats, which will enable cash to be reinjected into the shipyards. This authorisation is a great victory for the FIN, the French Nautical Industries Federation.

For several weeks now, the logistics chain in the nautical sector has been blocked, as the impossibility of access to the sea for yachting professionals, due to the containment measures, preventing in particular the launching of new boats, depriving dealers and distributors of major financial income at a crucial moment in the nautical season.

In this context, the teams of the FIN (French Nautical Industries Federation) were on the move to enable professionals in the sector to once again access the sea to launch their boats and prepare for the summer season as well as possible.

After a final exchange with the Prime Minister's office, an instruction to this effect was sent at the end of the morning by the Secretary General for the Sea to the maritime prefectures of all metropolitan and overseas frontiers.

This instruction should henceforth enable professionals to :

  • access to port infrastructures (slipways, technical and crane areas) in all marinas but also to navigate in order to convey the boats to their berths and moorings (on dead bodies, mooring buoys or in fairground anchorages).
  • This authorisation is exclusively intended for professionals, yachtsmen being excluded because of the confinement.

On this subject, the FIN is working to ensure that the "return to the water" of pleasure boaters takes place at the same time as the deconfinement. To this end, the professionals are currently preparing the sanitary conditions to welcome boaters in complete safety...
