When Simone Cesati, the boss of Albatro, a northern Italian shipyard specializing in the construction of offshore and racing boats, thought of civilizing one of his flagship models, the Evo 45, to make a "family" version, the Evo 45 XL, some details deserve our full attention.

While the Evo 45 is powered by 4 Yamaha engines of 450 HP each, giving it a top speed of more than 83 knots, the XL, an upgraded version (everything is relative when you see the streamlined line of this boat), more livable, very civilized, according to the shipyard, is satisfied with a family speed, we are told!

Evo 45 XL, born to race

With a net weight of less than 5 tons, this 45' benefits from a courier hull, with two steps in a very closed V that ends on an almost flat bottom. The EVO 45 XL is a (very) fast dayboat that has a double cabin with a Breton bed, a saloon where children can sleep and a separate toilet.

The Evo 45 XL differs from the radical Evo 45 version, by a relief in the tops, intended to offer more height under the ribs and by the installation of a more "reasonable" motorization with "only" 2x450 HP...

Thus equipped, this "family" version is able to exceed 55 knots, not bad to take the children out...
