Solar Skin 3.0, a new step forward for Sunreef Yachts in Sustainable Yachting

Sunreef Yachts, the world leader in the semi-custom luxury catamaran market, is launching its brand new photovoltaic system, the Solar Skin 3.0. This system, designed for its catamarans, marks an important step towards more sustainable and intelligent yachting. It is part of the brand's commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its yachts while improving energy efficiency.

The Solar Skin 3.0 succeeds the Solar Skin 2.0, which had already proven itself thanks to an efficiency of 24.8% and thermal resistance allowing it to operate at temperatures above 100°C. The system was also compatible with dark paints and had passed rigorous durability tests, withstanding up to 20,000 load cycles. In addition, RFID chips integrated into each panel facilitated diagnostics and after-sales service.

The new Solar Skin 3.0 system goes further by optimizing energy production in real time using advanced algorithms. These algorithms adjust electricity production according to variations in light and areas of shade caused by sails or rigging, thus increasing overall energy efficiency even in less favorable lighting conditions.

Technology Adapted to Real-Life Conditions

One of the major innovations of Solar Skin 3.0 lies in the use of automatic learning algorithms to determine the optimal location of the photovoltaic panels. This system ensures maximum energy efficiency, taking into account the specific use of each yacht. In addition, the biminis of the new catamarans are now equipped with new-generation photovoltaic cells, specially designed to operate in shaded environments, such as under the sails or rigging.

This technology maximizes energy production even in areas of the yacht that are traditionally not very suitable for solar energy harvesting, thus contributing to increased energy autonomy.

A Sustainable Vision for the Future of Yachting

Solar Skin 3.0 represents an important step towards more environmentally friendly yachting. By integrating this system on its catamarans, Sunreef Yachts continues to promote innovative solutions to reduce the sector's ecological footprint. This new technology underlines the brand's commitment to a more sustainable maritime future, while maintaining high standards in terms of comfort and performance.

The launch of the Solar Skin 3.0 demonstrates Sunreef Yachts' commitment to remaining at the forefront of innovation in the luxury yachting sector while supporting the energy transition. This exclusive system highlights the growing role of solar energy in the future of luxury yachts, offering a greener and more autonomous alternative for boaters.
