80 sailboats for the 26th Edition of the Open Yard (Ellös), main Scandinavian Boat Show dedicated to Sailboats

For almost 26 years, Open Yard (Öppet Varv 2019 in Swedish) has become the first Scandinavian sailing show dedicated to sailing boats, although the 2019 edition, which took place in the port of Ellös from august 23 to 25, welcomed a few motorboat builders ...

The originality of this boat show, which was not one at the time of its creation, comes from the Swedish yard Hallberg Rassy, which at the time launched an open doors week-end located on the site of the yard, that includes a marina!

The idea then was to showcase the range of luxury sailing boats of ther brand, while allowing customers and prospects to visit the construction yard.

The success of this concept was immediate and, over the years, Magnus Rassy, president of the company, decided to open the event to other shipbuilders, on the premise that each brand has its positioning and attracts its own customers.

In fact, the Open Yard has quickly become a very popular event in Northern Europe (Scandinavia, Great Britain, Russia, the Baltic States, Poland...), especially since the show takes place on the same weekend as the Marstrand Boat Show, an event more dedicated to motorboats, located less than 30 km away!!

In this exclusive Yachting Art video report, discover without further delay this unique exhibition, which attracts no less than 20,000 visitors every year, and on which 80 new and used sailing boats were exhibited, with famous brands - besides Hallberg-Rassy - such as Lagoon, Sweden Yachts, Delphia...
