The Japanese engine manufacturer wants to strengthen its position in the world's leading market for outboard engines. The establishment of a technical centre should help it to do so.

Suzuki Motor of America (SMA) will open its marine technical center in Panama City, Florida, in the USA, called the Suzuki Marine Technical Center USA. This test centre is the first of its kind outside Japan for the Japanese engine manufacturer.

Until now, the design, development and testing of outboard engines has been carried out exclusively at Suzuki's Marine Technical Center in Kosai, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

However, as the United States has become the largest market for Suzuki's marine business, the company has decided to build a new facility in the eastern region of the country. In fact, this region, which includes the Gulf of Mexico, accounts for about half of the Federation's marine market.

By now carrying out its development activities there as close as possible to its customers, the company intends to design more attractive and reliable products.
