The Butts are a family of manufacturers of power catamarans for work and leisure, who brought out their first models in 1961! The second and third generations are now at the helm of this shipyard, which has developed a highly interesting speciality: small outboard sportfishing catamarans.
The Butt Cat 970 XL Fisher is the largest in the range.
So, small catamaran, it's all a matter of perspective. The Fischer 970 XL we are presenting is over 9 metres long, but that's small and reasonable compared to what the Americans are making...
So get on board the Butt Cat 970 XL Fischer and you have to admit that with a machine like this, now CE certified and ready for export, you're going to be the envy of many on the water...
Built in fibreglass sandwich composite, Butt Cat boats are renowned for their almost foolproof strength. Solid and very seaworthy, with scuppers that drain water directly from the deck to the transom, non-reachable handrails, aluminium tanks, watertight stowage that would make a French fisherman swoon and a XXXL big-game fishing chair, they're a sportfishing powerhouse.
Equipped with a tower, trolling spreader and integrated livewells at the stern, it looks great and stands out from European helmsmen. Easy to maintain with its Floatex deck covering, a host of specific fittings can be ordered.
A boat for sea anglers looking for big catches.
The 990 XL, big brother to the 970 XL, has also just received CE certification.
Soon to be seen in Europe?
