Mercury Marine in the spotlight at the Cannes Yachting Festival... in Port Canto!

There are changes afoot at the Cannes Yachting Festival: work on the Max Laubeuf jetty has prompted the show organisers to group together powerboats from 8 to 12 metres and outboard motorists to move to Port Canto, in a dedicated area, the ‘Small boat Area’. Mercury Marine will be there in force this year!

Mercury Marine will be welcoming its customers and distributors to the Power103 stand at Port Canto from Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15 September 2024... with a few surprises in store!

Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival, talks to ActuNautique about the new marina: "This new marina is an ambitious project, with a huge space and a wealth of content: over 2,000 m² and 300 metres of linear quay, to accommodate 175 boats, including 135 afloat and 40 ashore, with rigid or semi-rigid hulls. In addition to the boats, a selection of outboard motors will be on display ashore along the entrance to this space. Don't miss this opportunity to discover the latest in boats and engines."

Maurice Duranthon, Director of Mercury Marine France, explains how the American engine manufacturer has adapted to these changes: ‘With the transfer of all the exhibitors from the Quai Max Laubeuf in the Old Port to the Port Canto, we have completely redesigned the Mercury stand with the marketing department. This stand will focus on B-to-B relations and welcoming our various partners, be they dealers, shipyards or suppliers. It will also reflect the top-of-the-range positioning of the brand and the show. The stand will also be an opportunity to discover our latest new products on a world-exclusive basis.

As in previous years, the American brand will be present on land and in the water with a wide range of outboard engines: V8 250 and 300 hp, V10 350 and 400 hp, and V12 600 hp. These premium Verado and Racing engines will be powering many prestigious brands of rigid and semi-rigid hull boats.

Last year, 66% of the outboard engines exhibited at the show were from the Mercury series.

The representation afloat was even more impressive, with more than 200 engines powering the leading brands of rigid and semi-rigid boats: Anvera, Axopar, Beacher, Bénéteau, Boston Whaler, Four Winns, Iguana, Lomac, MV Marine, Navan, Nimbus, Novamarine, NuovaJolly, Nuva, Oro Marine, Parker, Pirelli, Ranieri, Rand, Ribco, Roughneck, Ry, Saxdor, Sea Ray, SeaWater, Tesero, Wellcraft, XO, YOT, Zodiac.

For the second year running, Mercury Marine is a partner of the Cannes Yachting Festival, supplying around ten 15-25hp outboard motors to open and close the walk-through pontoons in the Vieux Port and Port Canto.

Yann Diquerreau, Marketing Manager at Mercury Marine France, concludes: ‘We are delighted to continue this partnership by supplying Mercury FourStroke transportable outboard motors, which are essential for the organisation. These engines make it easier for visitors and exhibitors to move around the show and handle the crossbeams installed for the show. I would like to thank our local representative, IBS - International Boat Services, the Mercury Outboard and Inboard distributor in Cannes, for receiving, preparing and delivering all the engines for the show. A special thank you to Rémy Méglioli, president of IBS, for his unparalleled availability and support."
