The Overboat is a small, compact and electric catamaran, equipped with foils to fly over the water in silence and without effort. After a first presentation of the prototype in 2018, the Montpellier start-up Neocean is now unveiling a preview of the Overboat at the Nautic Paris, where 20 units will be available for pre-sale.

The Overboat is an electric catamaran equipped with four foils, automatically regulated and retractable to sail in shallow water. This innovative boat, whose operating costs are very low, offers the sensation of flying over the water while sailing, all silently thanks to its electric propulsion. 

It reaches up to 15 knots (26 km/h) top speed; compact (3.1 m) and lightweight (100 kg), it is therefore very manoeuvrable and easy to move. Accessible to a wide public, it is driven without a boat licence thanks to its 4.5 Kw electric motor (single-seater version) and offers optimal safety when sailing. 

"Foils shouldn't be limited to the most athletic sailors, beyond the incredible pleasure of flying on the water, it's a way to save a lot of energy to sail. They then make it possible to have an electric boat, zero emission and silent, as fast as a thermal boat! But you have to know how to control the boat in flight. It is this know-how that we have developed over the past 3 years and that we are now making available to the general public," explains Vincent Dufour, oceanographer and specialist in the creation of innovative companies to Yachting Art Magazine English Edition.

Its compact and silent 4.5 Kw electric motor with high efficiency (1 Kw/kg) and direct drive and its foils allow a totally silent and respectful navigation of underwater fauna. 

The Overboat has been designed for a very wide audience, particularly for professionals, in 4 sectors: retailers of "water toys" for yachts, luxury hotel chains and holiday clubs for their customers, motorboat rental companies, interested in very low operating costs (without fuel), sea professionals: managers of marine protected areas, port managers, as well as sailors interested in the discretion and manageability of the boat.
